The focus of the Company Secretary’s responsibilities will differ depending on the type of organization, that is, public or private, and also depend on the industry. However, no matter the organization the Corporate Secretary’s role has expanded beyond simply ensuring statutory compliance to become a pivotal one where the skills of the Company Secretary can have a direct impact on the effectiveness of the Board, in particular, and the organization, in general.
